At Talent Trace (Pty) Ltd (herein referred to as Talent Trace) your privacy is important to us. We respect Your right to privacy and confidentiality of personal information whilst conducting our business or providing a service to you. This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information when you use our services and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
Talent Trace may change this Privacy Policy from time to time as required by the law or business requirements.

The Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA) describes personal information as information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person, including, but not limited to:
- Information relating to the race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, national, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental health, well-being, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth of the person;
- Information relating to the education or the medical, financial, criminal or employment history of the person;
- Any identifying number, symbol, e-mail address, physical address, telephone number, location information, online identifier or other particular assignment to the person;
- The biometric information of the person;
- The personal opinions, views or preferences of the person;
- Correspondence sent by the person that is implicitly or explicitly of a private or confidential nature or further correspondence that would reveal the contents of the original correspondence;
- The views or opinions of another individual about the person; and
- The name of the person if it appears with other personal information relating to the person or if the disclosure of the name itself would reveal information about the person;
Personal Information We May Collect
We use your Personal data to provide and improve our service offering to you. Talent Trace will only collect, use or disclose your personal information in accordance with the law and having received your consent to do so. By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

- Identification information may include but is not limited to names, identification number, race, gender, date of birth, driver’s license

- Employment related information may include but not limited to employment history, skills, experience, professional affiliations

Purpose of Information Collection
Talent Trace is an executive search and recruitment business providing recruitment services to its clients as well as assisting you, our potential candidate, to find fitting employment. In carrying out our mandate, Talent Trace requires access to your personal information for provision of recruitment services.
How is Information Collected
Talent Trace will mostly likely collect information from you and other third parties where you would have provided your consent to do so. Personal information may be collected from but not limited to the following means:
- Contact through our website, email, phone
- Submission of your Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Response to any job adverts Talent Trace may advertise in various media or online platforms
- Access to third party job portals (e.g. Career Junction, etc)
- References, contact information shared by referrals
- Any Talent Trace forms or information collection processes
- During reference checking or vetting processes (e.g. criminal records, qualifications, medical, credit checks)
Retention of Your Personal Data
Talent Trace will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of Our Service, or We are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

If, in response to a request, personal information is communicated to you, you have the right in terms of POPIA to request the correction of information. This must be done in writing.
Where you have provided your consent for the processing of your personal information, you may withdraw your consent. We may also limit your right to access information if prohibited by law. In the event that Talent Trace requires you to pay a fee for your request, we will provide you with written estimate of the fee before providing the services and may require you to pay a deposit for all or part of the fee.
Lodging of Complaints
You have the right to lodge a complaint with Talent Trace or the Information Regulator about any alleged infringement of the protection of your personal information. The Information Regulator may be reached at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za. Talent Trace takes all complaints seriously and our Information Officer will address all your personal information related complaints.
